Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso was full of praise for Victor Boniface after he opened his goal account for the club.
The Nigerian netted twice in Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-0 win against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Rhine Derby last weekend.
The 22-year-old scored the first and third goal for his new club.
Boniface has now scored two goals and provided one assist in two appearances for Leverkusen.
Alonso heaped plaudits on the striker for his remarkable displays since his arrival at the club.
“Victor’s a real problem for opposition defences. He’s powerful, quick and makes runs from deep.
“He has a good mentality and works for the team, not for himself,” Alonso told Bundesliga.com
