In Anambra state’s Obiofia Nnewi Ichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area, a residential duplex has been completely destroyed by fire
According to The igberetv, a power surge allegedly caused an electric spark that started the fire that broke out around 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 24.
No lives were lost in the blaze, according to the state’s fire chief, Martin Agbili, but the blaze severely damaged the buildings.
Agbili stated;.
“On Thursday, August 24, 2023, at around 19:02 (7:02 p.m.), the Anambra State Fire Service was alerted to a fire outbreak at Obiofia Nnewi Ichi in the Nnewi North Local Government Area.
“Our fire truck and hardworking firefighters were dispatched to the fire scene right away to fight, put out, and control the fire.
“An electric spark from a power surge was the reason for the fire outbreak. The fire severely damaged the building, but no one perished while putting it out. Since no nearby buildings were damaged by the spread of the fire, many lives were spared.
At around 2130 hours (9:30 pm), our firefighters left the scene of the fire incident. “.
