According to Ganduje, Wike is prepared to work with APC.

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has revealed that negotiations are taking place for some opposition political parties to merge with the APC

This information was revealed by Ganduje while talking about the August 15 visit of Nyesom Wike, a minister-designate and former governor of the state of Rivers.

When questioned about whether Wike would serve as a minister in the APC under President Bola Tinubu, Ganduje responded that Wike is willing to work with the opposition group without necessarily joining it.

He uttered;.

“You know Wike is an honorable Minister-designate, so he came and we talked because I was looking for him to congratulate him for that and also he came to congratulate me, and we talked about how when he fully becomes minister, he will work very hard to move the ministry he is giving forward and how ready he is to cooperate.

But we didn’t talk about whether he would join the APC or not. Later, that problem will come up.

Regarding his plan to increase the number of party members and whether Wike will improve the chances of the APC, Ganduje said;.

“It will undoubtedly increase the chances of this our party, particularly in 2027. In addition, we are releasing a new blueprint to increase the party’s followership, and this will include all levels of officials, including those who are in the APC and those who are in other political parties. I can assure you that some political parties will even combine with the APC very soon. We’re carrying that out covertly.

“The spirit of national unity does not imply the spirit of one party in Nigeria. The national spirit of competence is the national spirit of unity. “.
