UNICAL Dean Reacts To Allegations of Sexual Harassment Of Students

Prof Cyril Ndifon, who was charged with sexually harassing students while serving as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar in Cross River State, has responded to the charge.

Remember how some students who participated in the protest were seen holding up signs that read, “Professor Ndifon, let the girls with big brea*ts breathe,” and “We are tired of sucking big ****” in videos that were posted online?

We’ve had enough of your attempts to suffocate us.

“.

Prof.

responded to the accusation in kind. Ndifon claimed that the students made up lies to harm his reputation. He further asserted that the protest was planned by his fellow professors, who wanted him ousted as dean of the law school.

Ndifin said;.

It hasn’t been simple since I emerged as Dean of the Faculty after defeating some candidates in a hotly contested election. I had avoided several mines.

“These unfounded accusations were planned by my critic, who had vowed to damage my reputation because I twice won the faculty elections.

“If you examine the placards, you will see that they are written in a single person’s handwriting. Once more, if it wasn’t the work of an insider, how did the protesters find out that we were meeting with the vice chancellor?

“We were scheduled to meet with the vice chancellor to resolve significant issues that the faculty was having. However, during the meeting, we learned that some students were outside with signs calling for my removal from office.

According to what I’ve been told, LAWSAN President Benedict Otu persuaded some students to attend a meeting with the Vice Chancellor at her office only to distribute placards with inaccurate statements about the Dean and ask his colleagues to chant insults to my character.

It won’t work, I said.

My coworkers who are determined to ruin my reputation in order to get rid of me. Where are the victims of sexual harassment, is the question.

“Can someone sexually harass girls without those women coming forward to report the incident?

“For Christ’s sake, I don’t teach Year 2 B or Year 1 students, so I have no idea why they would want to tarnish my reputation. This is the reason why I earlier claimed that the accusations were untrue and concocted from the depths of h*ll in an effort to tarnish the reputation I had worked so hard to establish. “.
