After being taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, the rapper was photographed for his mug shot. Later, after posting a $2,000 bond, he was freed.
According to TMZ, Tekashi was arrested as a result of three traffic tickets he received after being stopped by police in June for exceeding the speed limit.
He allegedly received a speeding ticket on the Florida Turnpike after traveling 135 mph in a 65 mph zone. He also received citations for driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance.
When Tekashi did not show up for the court hearing in July to address the tickets, the judge was forced to issue a warrant, which led to Tekashi’s arrest last night.
The rapper has had numerous run-ins with the law, but he is best known for working with the feds in his racketeering case from 2018 to 2019, during which he testified against members of his former gang.
