Former works and housing minister Babatunde Fashola has denied drafting a ruling for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
It was called baseless and defamatory by the former governor of Lagos state in a statement issued by his media advisor, Hakeem Bello.
The National Communications Commission (NCC) and the management of X (previously known as Twitter) have been contacted about formal petitions to be filed against the offensive tweets and online reports, according to Fashola, who called those responsible “agents of destabilization.”.
Additionally, he urged the appropriate security agencies to treat the situation “with the utmost seriousness, as it strikes at the core of judicial independence.”.
The declaration said;.
“Fashola expressed his displeasure with the spread of this false information on social media platforms and has urged security agencies to take action against those responsible for spreading false information.
“In response to the allegation, Fashola explained that he has been away from Abuja for a considerable amount of time, making the claims completely unfounded.
“The former minister thinks that these accusations could be a part of a larger effort by those looking to manipulate the judiciary for their own gain to weaken the system.
“He emphasizes the significance of identifying the perpetrators and their sponsors and making sure they are subjected to the proper legal repercussions. “.
