Mary Odili denies influencing tribunal decisions on Tinubu's behalf

Former Supreme Court Justice Mary Peter-Odili, who is now retired, has denied engaging in talks with judges of the court of appeal and the top court to ensure that President Bola Tinubu receives a favorable ruling at the election petition tribunal.

Odili responded to the assertion by calling it “false and malicious” through her spokesperson Felix Enebeli. She added that the claim’s purported author, Twitter user Jackson Ude, has been ordered by her lawyers to retract it and issue a formal apology.

The declaration said;.

“Although the defamation resulting from the false allegation has been forwarded to her lordship’s attorneys to handle in accordance with the law, we believe it is appropriate to issue this clear denial of the false allegation for the benefit of the public.

We declare that the publication is false, malicious, mischievous, and an intentional attempt to tarnish her lordship’s integrity and good reputation, and we refute every allegation made in it.

“We don’t even mention the publication’s potential to incite the populace against her lordship on a matter of vital national importance.

“For the record, her lordship is not a judicial consultant to anyone, nor is she associated with or involved in any petitions related to the presidential election or any other election petition at all. The general public is hereby urged not to believe it and to disregard it.
