At least seven women have been included in the list of 30 commissioner-nominees submitted by Niger State Governor, Hon Muhammad Umar Bago, to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The women who made it to the list are: Elizabeth Shaba, a one-time Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, Hadiza Asebe Mohammed, Binta Mamman, a former member of the state assembly, Hajiya Titi Auta, Fatima Adamu, Hajiya Idris Kuta, and Maurice Magaji.
The governor’s request for consideration of the nominees was contained in a letter read by the House Speaker, Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, during a session at the State House of Assembly.
The Speaker also presented another request from the governor seeking the house’s approval to appoint ten additional Special Advisers.
It would be recalled that the house had earlier approved a request by the governor for the appointment of 20 special advisers
