As Muslims in Osun celebrate Eid-el-Kabir today, the Osun State Police Command has assured that it has placed adequate security arrangements to ensure that the celebration is peaceful.
In a statement by the Commissioner of Police, Patrick Kehinde Longe and made available by the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, the police reassured the citizens of the state that it had also put in place proactive mechanisms to guarantee the safety of lives and properties before, during and after the festivities.
According to the statement, “The aim of this announcement is to further re-assure the citizens of the State of the proactive security mechanisms put in place by the Command to guarantee safety of lives and property of the entire citizens before, during and beyond this festivity.
“It is however pertinent to advise the residents and visitors in the State to use halls/enclosed areas for any party instead of celebrating on the streets.
“Also, they should be security conscious and comport themselves in accordance with the provisions of the law, while appealing to members of the public to report any suspicious movement, give prompt and useful information to the Police in case of any infraction of the law through the following numbers 08039537995, 08123823980, 08075872433 and 08067788119
