Massive crowd flood Kano inauguration venue for NNPP’s Yusuf

Thousands of Kwankwasiyya members thronged the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, to witness the swearing-in of the Governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, elected under the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

IgbereTV reports that the traditional inauguration parade was almost suspended due to the crowd that flooded the venue to avoid a possible stampede.

Our correspondent reports that the convoy of the new Governor, Yusuf, had to be delayed for about two hours in a one-kilometer journey from the Stadium to the Government House.

Speaking, Abba Kabir Yusuf said, “today is the actualization of the will of the Kano people in full action as the confirmation of their mandate which they unanimously gifted to us”.

He expressed gratitude to the Kano people who, after losing his victory in 2019, stood by him to ensure the justification of their votes.

He promised to do all he could to salvage the decaying state of the State, adding, “I’m aware of the pain and agony you endured in the last eight years”.

Earlier on, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was booed and stoned with sachets of water for accusing him of being loyal to the government of outgoing Abdullahi Ganduje.

The Emir had to be escorted to his seat at the venue of the inauguration arena.

The National Leader of the NNPP, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, five Emirs of Rano, Karaye, Bichi, and Gaya were present at the inauguration ceremony
