Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Frederick Ade Ogidan, has warned operatives in the command against extortion and corruption.
He gave the warning during his official visits to commands under his watch in the state.
The Sector commander admonished the staff to obey corps Marshals’ directives, warning that anyone found wanting would face the consequences.
Ogidan, who decried the growing alarming reports on extortion by patrol operatives, cautioned motorists not to give bribes to marshals on the road.
He also expressed concern over trucks carrying passengers on top of goods which has led to the loss of lives.
The commander charged operatives to step up enforcement on haulage truck drivers to stop them from carrying passengers on top of goods.
The Command visited Ilorin, Olooru, Bode Sadu and Jebba Units.
he was also at Idofian, Offa, Erin Ile, Omu-Aran and Odo-Owa units.
He used the opportunity to pay a condolence visit to the family of Elerin of Erin Ile who joined his ancestors a few days ago
