Men, women and children were reportedly killed in a Monday night attack at Fungzai and Kubwat villages in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
IGBERETV learnt that no fewer than 41 people were killed in the attack
Plateau Peace Building Director General, Joseph Lengmang, in a post on his verified Facebook page, said he has never seen this scale of carnage and bloodbath. He wrote;
“We have never in the last 24 hours seen this scale of carnage and bloodbath in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The tragic destruction of homes and killing of innocent people from one village to another is quite troubling.
This is totally condemnable and unacceptable!
And even more troubling is the fact that the killings and wanton destruction have continued unabated.
The situation is beginning to look more like an earth scorching campaign as opposed to the usual attack on sleepy communities.
Something is fundamentally wrong somewhere!
There should be a massive deployment of both operation Rainbow and Operation Safe Haven special forces to arrest this very ugly situation from degenerating any further as well as spreading to neighbouring local government areas..”
