EPL: Lampard gives injury update ahead of Chelsea vs Brighton

Chelsea interim head coach, Frank Lampard has confirmed he will be without Kalidou Koulibaly for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton.

Lampard is yet to win since he was given the appointment, losing at Wolves in the league and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Koulibaly limped out of the game in Spain and will not be available for the visit of Brighton this weekend.

And the news is not good about the Senegal international’s chances of featuring in the return leg at the Bridge on Tuesday night.

“[Koulibaly] he won’t be available for either game,” Lampard said.

“A matter of weeks rather than days. He’s a very good, very experienced player. People talk a lot about our squad, Champions League squad is different to Premier League and a disappointment but also an opportunity.”
