EPL: It’ll be harder for Arsenal – Robert Pires names clubs in contest for title

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has named about five teams he believes would win the Premier League next season.

The former France international fears next season will be ‘much harder’ for the Gunners and feels Manchester City and three other clubs will challenge the Gunners for the Premier League title.

Arsenal is still hoping to win the Premier League title this season as they currently sit six points above Manchester City with eight games remaining. Though the citizens have a game in hand.

While Liverpool and Chelsea dropped off the title race so early this season leaving Manchester City and Arsenal in a two-horse race.

Pires, who won the Premier League for two seasons during his playing days, said the Blues and Reds will bounce back next season and join Arsenal, Man City and Man United in the hunt for the title.

“Teams like Manchester City, Manchester United and even Chelsea and Liverpool will have better financial possibilities to remain competitive at the highest level, that is clear,” Pires told MyBettingSites.

“So next season it will be much harder for Arsenal, especially with the added burden of the Champions League.”
