Kano state police command has arrested a man identified as Philibus Ibrahim for allegedly strangling his pregnant girlfriend, 22-year-old Theresa Yakubu, in Tudun Wada Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, IGBERETV reports.
Police received a report on April 2 that a young lady was lying unconscious along the Kano-Jos road in Anadaria village. On receiving the report, a team of police officers stormed the scene and immediately rushed the lady to the Tiga general hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Investigations by the police showed that the victim left Nassarawan Kuki to Yantomo Village in Garin Babba LGA of Kano on March 27, at about 6:00 p.m. Subsequent investigations by the police led to the arrest of the principal suspect who confessed to committing the offence by using the victim’s veil to strangulate her.
