Opinion : Sen. Umahi Is Most Strategically Positioned For Senate President Of The 10TH Senate From Southeast

By Francis Nwaze

The wisest decision for Ndigbo, sound minds from Southeast is to ensure that all Lawmakers at the Red Chambers across party lines adopt Governor David Umahi for the position of the President of Senate of the 10th Senate.

Having missed the number 1 and 2 positions of the leadership of our dear country, let our disagreements, divisions, and selfishness not elude us from the 3rd position which is visibly achievable through the cooperation of the leaders. We must understand the political body language in our country, Nigeria, we have to play inclusive politics to achieve a result.

All senators from Southeast devoid of their political learning should rise and stand firm behind a tested and trusted leader with capacity and most importantly a nationalist, Governor David Umahi, CON, GGCEHF.

Governor Umahi is most strategically positioned for the position of the Senate President of the 10th Senate following his many roles in national unity including the just concluded elections. He was bold and courageous, he understands Nigeria politics and plays an all-inclusive one. He does not segregate tribes or zones, he believes firmly in one Nigeria where everyone will be treated equally.

Governor David Umahi, CON, GGCEHF was the coordinator of the 17 Southern states of the federal republic of Nigeria of the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, a position only a detribalized Nigeria can hold. Governor Umahi was the Chairman of a presidential subcommittee on the Farmers/headers crisis. This, the Governor delivered firmly by journeying across the country to seek solutions that will ensure that herdsmen/farmers clashes are put to rest.

He is currently the Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, a position he has held for two tenures and he is a co-chairman of the Southern Governors Forum.

Let his winning the 10th Senate President be credited to the change in the pattern of politics to be introduced by the 15 Southeast Senators.
