Spain defensive midfielder, Rodri, has slammed Scotland’s “rubbish” tactics to football after his team’s Euro 2024 qualifier 2-0 defeat on Tuesday.
Rodri accused Scotland of time-wasting and provocation during the Euro 2024 qualifier at Hampden Park.
Two goals from Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay gave Scotland the victory over Spain.
Speaking after the game, Rodri insisted that Scotland’s tactic is not football.
The Manchester City star told Viaplay Sports: “It is the way they play. You have to respect it in the end, but for me, it is a bit rubbish because it is always wasting time. They provoke you and they always fall.
“This, for me, is not football. For the speed of the sport, you have to move on, but the referee has to take part in this, and he says nothing.
“It was frustrating because we want to win and it is difficult because they waste time, waste time. But it is what it is. They have their weapons and we have our weapons and we will learn for the next time.”
