Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles will look to overcome Guinea on Tuesday (today) and secure a place at the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
Salisu Yusuf’s side were held to a 0-0 draw by their fellow West Africans in the first leg last week Wednesday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The Young Syli Stars dominated the game and were unlucky not to return home with a vital away win.
The Olympic Eagles have now had more time to prepare for the return fixture and should produce a better performance this time around.
Majority of the invited foreign-based players came in late to camp which affected the team’s performance in the first leg.
Guinea will be denied the support of their vociferous home fans as the game will be played in Morocco due to their failure to provide a suitable venue for the game in their country.`
The overall winners will qualify for the U-23 AFCON which will be hosted by Morocco in November.
The competition will serve as the qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France
