Jigawa State has witnessed a high turnout of voters for the governorship and state Assembly elections.
In all the polling units visited by newsmen far, the election has commenced, and electorates came out as early as 7:30 am to exercise their franchise.
A voter at PU 034 in Kachi Ward in Dutse local government told our reporter that he was at the polling unit as early as 7:00 am, and he met many people in the queue.
Muhammad Garba, Presiding Officer at Tunanan polling unit 024 in Kiyawa local government, said the election commenced as early as 8:30 am.
He said the election is taking place smoothly as no problem was recorded in the election process.
“We don’t have any problem with our BVAS and other election materials and electorates have conducted themselves accordingly and have already begun voting for the candidate of their choice,” he said.
