Zangon Kataf killings: We must break cycle of impunity – Uba Sani

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani has opined that immediate and decisive action must be taken against those behind the murderous attack on Zangon Kataf communities.

In a statement he personally issued on the attacks being carried out in Atyap Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state, the gubernatorial candidate said, “I am deeply pained by the attack on Zangon Kataf Community and the wanton destruction of innocent lives and property. This is not only a condemnable act but one that must propel us to take immediate and decisive action against these murderous elements.”

Sani called on the security agencies to move into action to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crimes and bring them to book, assuring that such elements have no place in a decent society.

He added that the inability of security agencies to fashion effective strategies to degrade or decimate the terrorists and bandits has rendered most of the communities desolate.

According to him, the full weight of the law was hardly brought to bear on criminal elements, lamenting that the people watched helplessly as criminal elements held sway in many communities.

“This must not be allowed to continue,” he emphasized.

He explained that safety and security is a key plank of his manifesto, assuring that if, by the grace of God, he gets the people’s mandate, he would work with security agencies to restore peace to communities in Kaduna State.

He condoled the families of the victims of the unfortunate attack, and the government and people of Kaduna State, saying that he had dispatched his field officers to deliver relief materials to the families of the victims and prayed that the Almighty Allah grants the victims eternal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
