There has been serious jubilation in Zamfara State following the directive given to commercial banks by the CBN to start issuing the old Naira currency to reduce the hardship faced by the masses.
Most of the people interviewed by IgbereTV agreed that the CBN directive has brought a sense of relief, saying that Nigerians have been groaning under unnecessary economic hardship even when there is no reason for such punishment.
Babangida Usman, a resident of Gusau in Zamfara said the suffering followed the rash cashless policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which was allegedly poorly planned and executed by the Apex bank.
“If the ugly development had not been arrested, Nigerians would have revolted against the federal government and the CBN”, he added.
Another resident of the State, Ikechukwu Nnamdi said if the ugly situation had continued, his business would have collapsed entirely from financial handicap because of poor patronage.
“I have nothing to tell the federal government and the CBN but a very big thank you because they brought my business back to life”
DAILY POST reports that business activities are gradually improving in the state, following the directive.
Some commercial banks visited in Gusau showed that banking activities have returned but not fully as there are still queues but not as much as they used to be
