Wike playing divisive politics, pitching south against north -Timi Frank

More reactions have continued to trail the mockery of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded presidential elections, Atiku Abubakar by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

In the latest reaction, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, alleged that Wike was playing a dangerous kind of politics, capable of igniting a political crisis between the Northern and Southern regions of the country.

He took to a statement on Monday, to call on the presidency and other leaders of thought across the country to call Wike to order.

Recall that Wike had taken to a recent commissioning ceremony in Rivers State to mock Atiku over the latter’s decision to stage a protest at the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over his fortunes at the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Wike had told the listening crowd that he invited some of his friends to have a drink with him while he watched Atiku Abubakar and his supporters protesting the outcome of the polls, which produced Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as President-elect.

Taking a further swipe at the Rivers State governor, Frank said Wike’s recent outburst in public goes to confirm that Peter Obi of the Labour Party presidential candidate was not genuinely in the race to win the presidency but was used by forces known to Wike to play a spoiler’s game against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the North from winning the presidency.

He quoted Wike, as reportedly saying Obi was his hero of the just concluded presidential election but openly worked and delivered Rivers State for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the election.

Frank said, so Obi was good for a spoiling role but not for Presidency as portrayed by Wike’s statements.

He accused Wike of celebrating a fraudulent and controversial presidential election victory as if the South has just defeated the North, hence the need to call him to order.

“Let me use this medium to call on the Presidency, religious leaders, including leaders of thought, the security agencies to call Governor Wike to order before he ignites a political crisis between the North and South, especially as most Nigerians are still bitter about the outcome of the Presidential election which has been adjudged to be massively rigged.

“It has been on record that since Wike lost his presidential bid to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who is more experienced than him, the bitter Rivers State Governor had put on the garment of hate against the North while hiding under the toga of Southern presidency,” Frank alleged
