Abia North: Ex—Umunneochi Council Boss, Oliver Egeonu Backs Sen Orji Kalu's Re-election Bid

The former Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government Area, Chief Oliver Egeonu has declared total support for the re-election of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

According to the Umuchieze born politician, Kalu’s overwhelming performance in less than four years as the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District is the best in the history of Abia State.

 

In a chat with our correspondent, Egeonu urged the people of Abia North Senatorial District to reelect Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for more development to the constituency.

He lauded Kalu for attracting quality projects like rural roads, installation of solar street lights, sinking of boreholes, renovation of schools and health centres, youths and women empowerment, scholarships to Abia North students to study Medicine and Surgery in South America, Agricultural grants and many more.

He appealed to Kalu’s opponents to withdraw from the senatorial race and join hands with Kalu for the development of the Senatorial District and Abia State in general.

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu on Friday intensified his reelection campaign with a visit to seven wards in Isikwuato Local Government Area.

Kalu, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), visited Nulya Amaiyi Obinaohia ward 5, Mgbelu Umunnekwu ward 11, Umunnekwu Agbo ward 6, Eluama ward 4, Obialiugo ward 12, Otamba ward 3 and Umuasua ward, where the people reassured him of their overwhelming support, declaring him as “unstoppable”

Receiving Senator Kalu at Nulya Amaiyi Obinaohia ward, the Isikwuato Chapter Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Royal Okereke vowed to deliver the council area to the former Abia State Governor, saying: “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is a good product that sells very well.”

He appealed to the people of the area to come out en masse on the February 25 to cast their votes for candidates of the party.

At Eluama and Umuasua wards, the people applauded Senator Kalu for the projects he attracted to their communities which included construction of rural roads, installation of solar street lights, sinking of boreholes, renovation of schools and health centres, youths and women empowerment, business grants and so many others.

Kalu in his remarks said he was going back to Abuja to do “what only Orji Uzor Kalu can do”.

He promised to continue to take measures that will improve the lots of his people and provide opportunities that will engender human capital development for the sustainable growth of Abia North Senatorial District, Abia State and Nigeria in general.

He described the numerous projects he attracted and executed as part of measures put in place to absorb the teeming youths of Abia North, Abia State and Nigeria in general and bringing economic prosperity to the people.

He also promised more development projects in the Senatorial District when reelected in 2023, saying: “Development is a continuous process; I will do more for Abia North and Abia State in general when I am reelected.”
