SHOCKING!!! How Dogs Killed Popular Footballer (Photos)

Tributes have poured in for former Zambia international Philemon Mulala, who died earlier this month after being attacked by his own pet dogs.

Mulala, 60, had six caps to his name for Zambia, and he played in the 1984 CECAFA Cup – which Zambia won. Mulala scored twice in the semi-final as Zambia overcame Kenya, before beating Malawi in the final.

The former forward was found dead in his own back garden by his wife at their home in Lichtenburg, South Africa. According to reports, the attack is believed to have taken place on Saturday, January 7.

Police spokesperson Captain Sam Tselanyane said: “She did not bother to go and check what was wrong [when the dogs were barking] as their house is situated on a busy street and the dogs frequently barked at pedestrians and vehicles passing by.

“After the electricity was restored [after loadshedding], she went inside looking for her husband, but could not find him. Upon continuing with her search, the woman saw her husband lying motionless outside in the garden.

“She then went outside, only to find that the husband was bitten by their dogs.”
