As the 2023 general elections draw closer, Governor David Umahi has directed a level playing field for every political party in Ebonyi State. This he exemplified by not harboring any sacred cow as it’s in Ebonyi that the Governor ensured that any political party that disobeys the executive order of pasting campaign materials on government infrastructure is penalized including the party in power, his party, the APC. A few days ago, the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State paid the five million naira penalty charged for indiscriminate pasting campaign material on government infrastructure.
Recall that Executive Order 3 prohibits political parties from using public places such as schools, parks, and markets among others for political activities without seeking and obtaining due clearance from the state government.
The order, signed by the governor in November, also prohibits political parties from using critical infrastructures for pasting posters without obtaining state clearance.
A few days ago, Governor Umahi directed the relevant ministry to ensure the approval of the Labour Party’s application to use the Pa Ngele Oruta Stadium for their rally so long as they take the necessary precautions to protect the infrastructure and maintain its neatness.
Political commentators will play a blind eye in times like this and the netizens will not see these uncommon outings by the Governor. How else do you explain excellence in leadership where everyone is treated equally?
It’s in Ebonyi State that the gubernatorial ticket of the ruling party is shared with a man as the Governor and a woman as the Deputy Governor, a rare combination in any state of the federation and the first of its kind in the history of Ebonyi State.
Leadership is not the same as occupying a position. A leader can lead from anywhere but when a leader occupies the right position, the people rejoice. This is the situation in Ebonyi State today. Governor Umahi is an A-class leader and the people are excited and grateful to God for what he has done by giving them the Governor they desire at the point of their need.
Governor Umahi has been massively supported to represent the people of Ebonyi State (South) at the red chambers where he will contribute his wisdom and knowledge to reset policies adversely affecting the people and ensure that the people are better and adequately receiving government presence by way of provision of dividends of democracy.
Having shown exemplary leadership as Governor, having identified a progressive-minded and largely accepted personality to continue from where he would stop as Governor, it’s correct to vote Governor David Umahi, CON as Senator to represent Ebonyi State (South) and Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru as Governor to lead the people of Ebonyi State from 2023.
