N-Power: Lawyer Demands D’Banj’s Release, Seeks NASS Probe

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the legal counsel for Oladapo Oyebanji, otherwise known as D’Banj has maintained that the singer is innocent of all the allegations leveled against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), IgbereTV reports

Olajengbesi also demanded the release of the singer while calling on the National Assembly to probe the allegations of diversion of funds for the N-Power Programme levelled against the singer.

The lawyer also challenged the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to reveal the identity(ies) of the authority the singer allegedly colluded with.

The ICPC had on Wednesday announced detained D’Banj over alleged diversion of N-Power funds.

However, the singer’s lead counsel, Olajengbesi insisted on D’Banj’s innocence and demanded his immediate release by the ICPC.

He called on the National Assembly’s Public Account Committee to open a wide investigation into the N-Power scheme through an open and all free entry public hearing without protecting any sacred cows
