The infrastructural, economic, and human capital fortunes of Abia state will soon change for the better, as the state’s governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP), Chief Uzor Kalu, has expressed the readiness of his party to turn around the nosedived fortunes of the state to the benefit of the Ukwa bloc and other parts of the state.
Speaking at Ukwa East L.G.A. yesterday for his ongoing ward-round tour, the former Chief of Staff to the Abia State Government outlined several economic projects that would be sited in the area, which, according to him, will change the fortunes of Abia and end the infrastructural backwardness of Ukwa. Some of the projects include the revitalization of the Abia Palm, the construction of the Obeaku Seaport, etc.
The APP governorship candidate also pointed out that his party has already shown its predisposition for Ukwa by giving the Deputy Governorship slot and the Abia South Senatorial ticket to the bloc.
Corroborating his principal’s claim, Prof. Osondu Akoma, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the APP, said Chief Kalu’s love for Ukwa has substantially addressed the longstanding political marginalization of his people.
The APP tour train visited five ABSIEC wards in Ukwa East yesterday: Obeaku, Ikwuoriato West, Ikwuoriato East, Azumini, and Igube Achara.
Chief (Hon.) Sylvanus Nwaji, Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal House of Representative candidate; Hon. Franklin Chimdia Nwadie, Ukwa East State House of Assembly candidate; Comr. Emeka Adile, State Administrative Secretary; and Dr. Otuka were other notable stakeholders of the APP that were part of yesterday’s tour.
