Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2023 Senatorial Elections of Enugu East, Princess Ada Ogbu has paid a condolence visit to the aggrieved Agu-Amede community, Eha-Amufu in Isiuzo LGA of Enugu State, who were attacked by herders a few weeks ago.
The Princess of Nara Unataeze poured out her utmost concern for the people, even as as they struggled through the painful loss of their lied ones and family members.
Addressing them, she encouraged the people to be strong in the tough times and situation they have found themselves and promised to stay in touch with them. She further offered words of encouragement, stressing that as part and parcel of Eha-Amufu and as a mother too, she feels their pain.
In her words, “this is one of the pivotal reasons behind my aspiration to the Senate, to be your voice, I promise that by the grace of God, if I get there, I will speak, work and collaborate with the Federal Government towards seeking for a lasting solution to this menace and its attendant negative impacts on the lives and livelihoods of the citizens”.
Responding, a community leader in an emotion-laden voice lamented that his people are being slaughtered on daily basis, while survivora are rendered homeless, “we are asking for the intervention of the government, we appreciate you for having us in mind, people like you are the type that we need to represent us”.
Other people who spoke during her visit were elated for the solidarity visit of the Princess and conveyed their heartfelt appreciation.
Earlier, Ada Ogbu had visited the residence of the Anglican Bishop Of Eha-Amufu Diocese; His Lordship Rt. Rev Olinya Nkemjika.
The senatorial hopeful while at the residence, held a closed door meeting with the Bishop towards seeking and proffering lasting solutions to the attacks.
Some of those who received the Princess include Mama Eha-Amufu, APC youth leader for Eha Amufu, Prince Ojenanwayo and some other faithfuls.
