2023 : I Have Not Decamped From APC To Any Other Party - Anison

An All Progressives Congress stalwart in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mr Ani Shedrack Ogbonnaya aka, (Anison) has dismissed reports that he decamped from the ruling party, APC to another party.

In a statement made available to our correspondent, Anison said his attention has been drawn “to a Facebook post on the timeline of one Johnson Njoku published about 24 hours ago alleging that I, Ani Shedrack Ogbonna has defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP alongside other 24 House of Assembly aspirants under the APC who failed to secure the Party’s tickets for the 2023 elections.”

According to him, “the said Facebook post of the Labour Party apologist could have been dismissed as an utter gibberish of a false alarmist, calling for attention but indeed deserving of none. However, I understand as a politician who have been through the tick and thin especially in our Party- the APC how some gullible minds may attach so much importance to this unfounded gossip, hence my rebuttal of the said vexatious, obnoxious claim of the writer.”

He revealed that he is still” a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at least for now and interested in the Party’s victory in the 2023 general elections to the best extent and capacity I think my contributions may be needed and valued.”

The statement reads,

DISCOUNTENANCE SOCIAL MEDIA REPORTS I HAVE MOVED TO THE PDP WITH OTHER AGGRIEVED APC ASPIRANTS- ANISON

My attention has been drawn to a Facebook post on the timeline of one Johnson Njoku published about 24 hours ago alleging that I, Ani Shedrack Ogbonna has defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP alongside other 24 House of Assembly aspirants under the APC who failed to secure the Party’s tickets for the 2023 elections.

The said Facebook post of the Labour Party apologist could have been dismissed as an utter gibberish of a false alarmist, calling for attention but indeed deserving of none. However, I understand as a politician who have been through the tick and thin especially in our Party- the APC how some gullible minds may attach so much importance to this unfounded gossip, hence my rebuttal of the said vexatious, obnoxious claim of the writer.

To my teeming supporters and followers, therefore, I wish to clarify as follows:

1. That at no time or point have I, Ani Shedrack Ogbonna met, deliberated or made any moves, silent or desperate to join the PDP or any other political Party for that matter at least in the material time.

2. That I remain in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at least for now and interested in the Party’s victory in the 2023 general elections to the best extent and capacity I think my contributions may be needed and valued. It is under the APC that I have sought the Party’s ticket twice 2018 and 2022 to represent my State Constituency even though I hadn’t been successful.

3. That should this my very position vary in the near or in the distant future, I will always convey same to my esteemed supporters in the most formal and cordial of manners that have always been associated with my amiable and gentle personality.

4. That members of the public should discountenance in it’s TOTALITY the said Facebook post and all it’s curious content as false, vexatious and mendacious in every sense of the word.

5. Thank you and remain blessed even as I pray God and hope for a successful 2023 elections in Ebonyi State and Nigeria.

Signed:

Ani Shedrack Ogbonnaya
APC stalwart, Onicha Local Government Area,
Ebonyi State.
