The immediate past Chairman of Board of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Rt. Hon. Asita Honourable, has emerged ‘Public Servant Of the Year’ in 2022 Leadership Excellence Awards.
In a nationwide online poll monitored by News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Asita garnered 64,341 votes to defeat Babatunde Fashola, 24,311 votes, Buba Warwa, 18546 votes and Mahmood Yakubu, 11647 votes.
The prestigious award, endorsed by the African Union, African Film Institute, will be presented to him on 5th November, 2022 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja in a glamorous ceremony organised by IgbereTV.
Rt. Hon. Asita is the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Rivers West in 2023 general elections, he resigned from NIMASA Board to join the Senatorial race.
Through divine revelation, his father, late Chief Asita christened him “Honourable”, a name he has honourably lived up to by touching the lives of the less privileged and empowering many youths.
IgbereTV media crew led by the Executive Director, Emeh James Anyalekwa visited him to formally inform him of his nomination and victory in the online poll.
During the visit, the team also conducted awardee post-profiling, photo session and presentation of his Table reservation for the event.
The prestigious award, which is the fourth in a row, is an annual event; it recognises and honours outstanding impacts of leaders across public and private sectors in Nigeria.
The event also promotes outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in Nigeria’s political, social and economic spheres.
