The governorship hopeful of Abia state and candidate of the Action Peoples Party, APP, for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has kick-started what he calls a verification tour across the 17 L.G.As of the state to ascertain the voting strength of his party for the upcoming election.
Today, Chief Mascot, in conjunction with his running mate, Prof. Osondu Akoma, and his entourage, stormed Umurakpa Community of Osisioma Ngwa LGA to kick-start the tour.
Hon. Prince Charles Nwogu, the LG Chairman of APP in Osisioma Ngwa, on behalf of the party’s faithful, members of the Reality Organization and indigines of the LGA heartily welcomed Chief Mascot, whom he described as a young man with the tenacity and technical-know-how to solve the enormous challenges confronting Abia state. He, therefore, assured him of the readiness of the people of Osisioma Ngwa to support his political ambition.
Speaking at the event, Chief Mascot Kalu said his tour is not to campaign but to ascertain if truly APP is on ground in Osisioma Ngwa as he has been told and to take cognizance of the needs of the people of the LGA.
One thing that he obviously noticed that Osisioma Ngwa lacks is good accessible roads, which he promised to reconstruct their roads if elected into office.
He further gave an insight into his manifesto which include but not limited to construction of at least 10 to 15KM of new roads in each local government, restoration of free Primary and Secondary education, revitalization of moribund industries for job creation, regular payment of workers’ salaries on the 26th of every month, and many more.
