Osun PDP Holds Governorship Primary Amid Litigations, Allegations Of Bias

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Osun State is set to elect its candidate for the July 16 Governorship election in the state, IgbereTV reports.

About 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the delegates started making their way to the 10,000 capacity stadium in Osogbo, where the party is expecting more than two thousand delegates from across the state.

The security in and around the stadium is watertight with the heavy deployment of the police, DSS, Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun, and other security agencies.

In the last couple of hours, some of the top contenders have pulled out of the race. Akin Ogunbiyi, Fatai Akinbade, Dele Adeleke, and Sanya Omirin have all withdrawn from participating in the primary.

This leaves Senator Ademola Adeleke and Dotun Babayemi in the race expected to be keenly contested
