Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has celebrated former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo who turns 85 years today, IGBERETV reports.
His post on instagram reads;
“On behalf of my Family, Government and the people of Lagos State, I warmly felicitate Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his 85th birthday anniversary.
Chief Obasanjo, a retired Military General and elder statesman is worth celebrating, having served Nigeria in many capacities, especially for the unity, peaceful coexistence, socio-economic growth and development of Nigeria, and also his passionate involvement in African affairs and other global issues.
His contribution to the development of our dear country, especially his service to the nation as a gallant military officer, the first Nigerian to serve as Head of State, and later, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will never be forgotten.
Therefore, as Baba Obasanjo celebrates this major milestone, I join his family, friends and associates to wish him many happy returns.
My prayer is that the Almighty God grants him long life and good health, so we can continue to tap from his fountain of knowledge and experience as an elder statesman and global leader. Amen”
