The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 1,139 new infections were confirmed on Thursday, as the countryβs daily COVID-19 cases continue to rise, IgbereTV reports.

Giving an update on its efforts at containing the spread of the disease, the agency revealed in a Facebook post on Friday that the new cases were confirmed in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
They include Rivers β 420, Lagos β 324, Oyo β 81, Gombe β 47, Akwa Ibom β 41, Kaduna β 36, Niger β 36, Ondo β 35, and FCT β 29.
Others are Delta β 18, Edo β 15, Ogun β 14, Kano β 12, Cross River β nine, Ekiti β eight, Kebbi β eight, Nasarawa β four, Enugu β one, and Jigawa β one
