"Join These Figures Together, Not Up To $5, Can We Go Back To Using Cowries?" - Basket Mouth

Bright Okporcha popularly known as Basketmouth has come out to express his annoyance as to how devalued the Nigeria currency (naira) has become of recent.

The International famous comedian well known for his comic craft both as a standup comedian and an actor who has traveled to many countries and continents hosting shows, entertaining populace took to his media handle saying;

“Join all these figures together and it’s still not up to $5.
Can we just go back to using cowries already?”

Recall that in 1993 during Ibrahim Babangida’s reign, the exchange rate of naira to dollar was 90kobo to 1dollar.

Also remember that during the previous administration headed by Goodluck Jonathan before leaving office in 2015, the exchange rate was N180 per 1dollar.

But in this current administration headed by Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, it would be worthy of note that as at 26th, December 2021, the exchange rate of Nigeria currency to dollar has skyrocketed to N410 per 1dollar.

This increment has immensely affected virtually all Nigeria commodities specifically consumables among others couple with the fact that the nation is in her festive season which has drastically multiplied price of goods without any governmental control.
