Manchester City ended Chelsea unbeaten run in the Premier League defeating the London Club narrowly 1 – 0, IgbereTV reports.
City’s high press gave them control early on, but despite dominating the stats sheet, they struggled to test Edouard Mendy in goal.
The first half ended in stalment for both sides as City failed to have a shot on target. However, they pressed Chelsea and stopped any attacking threat from the Londoners.
City finally made their well-deserved breakthrough seven minutes after the break as Gabriel Jesus’ strike took a wicked deflection and trickled past Mendy.
The Brazilian could’ve had another soon after, only to be thwarted by a goal-line clearance from Thiago Silva.
Chelsea managed to score a goal however, Lukaku’s effort was flagged offside when Chelsea managed to make little attacking threats in the second half.
City are back in top four as they sit level with Chelsea and Manchester United with 13 points. Liverpool who take on Brentford later in the day also have 13 points.
