Reps Spokesman, Hon. Benjamin Kalu recently shed more light on the moves by Southeast lawmakers to give the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, a soft landing, IgbereTV reports.
The federal lawmaker reveals that to pretend IPOB is not existing is to live in a fool’s paradise.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers operating under the umbrella of the Southeast caucus of the National Assembly dropped the hint in a communique issued at the end of their meeting held on Wednesday at the residence of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
Checks revealed that Kanu was extradited from Kenya last June, arising what the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) called collaborative efforts between the security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
The leader of IPOB in the custody of the Department of Security Services had since been arraigned for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony and unlawful possession of firearms.
The lawmakers from the southeast states in the communique resolved to open communication with the federal government and its agencies towards a political solution to Kanu’s trial.
