Philanthropist, Alex Ikwechegh Congratulates Newly Elected Sao Tome President (Photos)

 

A renowned Nigerian philanthropist, Chief (Hon) Alex Mascot Ikwechegh has congratulated Carlos Vila Nova, the newly-elected President of Sao Tome and Principe.

IGBERE TV reports that Nova won the second round of presidential elections in Sao Tome and Principe, with 57.54 percent of the votes, according to provisional results announced Monday by the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

In a congratulatory message made available to IGBERE TV on Monday, through his media office, Ikwechegh said Mr Nova’s emergence as the President of Sao Tome and Principe shows that he is widely accepted and loved by his countrymen.

Chief Ikwechegh said he is very optimistic that Mr Nova will use his experience which he garnared over the years as telecommunications expert to attract investors and change the narrative for the country.

“I strongly believe that the people of Sao Tome and Principe voted for you on overwhelming conviction that your government will change the narrative for the country and better their lives”.

“As a telecommunications expert who has served in various Political Offices, this is the time to use the experiences garnered over the years to improve the standard of living of the people of your country”

Ikwechegh further urged the people of Sao Tome to support the newly elected president to fast track the country’s socio-economic development.

 

“On behalf of myself and family, I extend a very big congratulations to you and urge the people of Sao Tome and Principe to rally round your Government as the task ahead demands the support of all”, the statement concluded.
