The allegation making the rounds that Enugu State Government under the leader Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has approved the sale of a large expanse of land in Obinofia Nd’Uno, a town along Enugu-Onisha Expressway, “for a project suspected to be RUGA” is FAKE NEWS!
IGBERE TV visited Obinofia Nd’Uno on Thursday morning and discovered that the report is false aimed at damaging the reputation of Governor Ugwuanyi.
Speaking with Igbere TV news crew, the leader of the Obinofia Nd’Uno, Mr Aneke Adolphus said it is unfortunate that the problem people have especially at community level comes from the elites.
Mr Adolphus said the community negotiated with the Chinese company for 70 hectares of land for the production of ceramics & other allied materials.
According to him, “the negotiation was cordial & that made possible for the company to enter the land at all. Any body talking of RUGA or any other production other than Ceramic tiles is deceitful and his aim is simply to throw uncertainty in Umueze & Obinofia in general .”
“The general public is hereby asked to ignore the writer & the content of his piece . Our able Governor has nothing in common with the thinking of writer. The writer should please be guided & never to use the name of our Governor to achieve cheap popularity. Whatever you do not know & you want to know call your leader.”
IGBERE TV news crew also visited the legal representative of sapphire ceramic Nig Ltd in Enugu to verify the claim.
Speaking with Igbere TV, Barr Okpa ( Frank & Phill solicitors said land in view has just recently been acquired for the purposes of establishing a first class ceramics industry by sapphire ceramic Nigeria Ltd.
According to him, “Please, can the peddler of this false news stop, to avoid unwarranted rift among the good people of Umueze community in ezeagu local govt area.”
He revealed that the project is expected to employ the indigenes of the community and bring development of enviable proportion to the state.
“This land in view has just recently been acquired for the purposes of establishing a first class ceramics industry by sapphire ceramic Nigeria Ltd.”
