EID-EL-KABIR : Gov. Umahi Tasks Muslims To Pray For Peace & Unity Of Nigeria

As Muslims celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the Governor of Ebonyi state, Engineer David Umahi, has restated the determination of his administration towards ensuring peace, growth and development of the state and the country, Igbere TV reports.

Governor Umahi advised Muslim faithfuls to imbibe the lessons of the religious festival which reinforces the spirit of sacrifice, tolerance and total submission to the will of God, among others.

”I heartily felicitate with the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. I urge them to reflect on the importance of Sallah and the teachings it contains.”

“Let us imbibe the lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance, steadfastness, generosity and the ultimate obedience to Almighty God which are the hallmarks of this solemn month.”

Governor Umahi called on the Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion to pray for the continued peace and unity of the Nation.

“I enjoin all Muslims to solemnly reflect on the ideals which the founders of Islam espoused by contributing towards the development of our respective communities. Let’s continue to pray for the peace and unity of Nigeria.”
