The Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Elder Hon. Stephen Orogwu, has presided over the deployment of local vigilantes who will form part of the South East Ebubeagu Security outfit, Ikwo LGA chapter, to different communities in Ikwo LGA, Igbere TV has learnt.
According to the SSA to the Ikwo LGA Chairman, deploying the team of 100 able and capable youths to different parts of Ikwo LGA, today Friday 16 April, 2021, at the council headquarters at Onuebonyi Echara, Elder Hon. Orogwu charged the Ebubeagu security team to partner with existing security structures including the police, the army, the NSCDC and others in bringing lasting peace and security of lives and properties in every part of Ikwo LGA.
He also made it known to them the precarious security situation in the country requires that they become as wise as serpents in sniffing security breaches either from unknown criminals or known entities with anti-societal objectives.
Speaking further, Elder Hon. Orogwu made it clear to the members of the Ebubeagu security outfit in Ikwo LGA that being deployed to one community or the other doesn’t stop them from joining forces when necessary in rooting out the forces of barbarism and destruction.
“Be ready at your location anytime to be called to any part of Ikwo. If we have any security challenge at Agubia, for example, you will be mobilized immediately to come there irrespective of your posting area. If there’s a security breach at Omege Echara, those at Ekeawoke should expect to be mobilized there in the interest of Ikwo Noyo.”
The DPO of Ikwo Divisional Police, CSP Livinus Onuenyim, admonished the members of Ebubeagu security outfit in Ikwo to give their best to this call to duty.
“Know it that this call to serve is the onerous task of rendering service to God and humanity. But be rest assured that anytime you’re rendering service, posterity will be kind to you.”
He also promised that he and his men will give all needed support and backup to the Ebubeagu security outfit.
“Anytime you have challenge call on us,” he said, while calling out his number to the team.
The divisional officer of Ikwo NSCDC, Irem I. Ibiam, in like manner, urged the selected persons to use this opportunity to show their love for their communities and for Ikwo Noyo. Noting that development comes when there’s peace, he encouraged the person’s selected as part of the Ebubeagu Joint Security Network to give their best to ensure peace and thus development in their communities.
Hon. Brutus Orogwu, Coordinator of Ndufu Ikwo Development Center, speaking on behalf of all DC Coordinators, spoke about the importance of peace to societal development and maintained that the members of Ebubeagu security outfit now have the opportunity to help Ikwo develop.
