A Ghanaian actress by name Rosemond Brown a.k.a. Akuapem Poloo, has been convicted by an Accra Circuit Court over naked pictures with her son. The conviction follows the circulation of her naked picture with her son to celebrate his seventh birthday.
On Wednesday, the actress pleaded guilty to all three count charges and was convicted on her own plea by the court presided over by Christina Cann.
The actress was facing charges of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence which infringes on other person’s privacy or destract another person.
According to the charge, on June 30,2020, Ms. Brown chose to celebrate her son’s seventh birthday by taken their both pictures when they were naked and sharing same in the internet.
The caption of the picture read: “I am naked in front of you because this is how naked i was giving birth to you, so in case you find me lying somewhere don’t pass by but see me as your mom who brought you to life.”
On November 9, 2020, she appeared before the court over similar charges.
After series of criticisms over the post, the actress apologized for her actions.
She also tried to justify her actions by insisting that the pictures where to motivate children to do more for their mothers no matter the state of their mother.
“I was not completely naked. I covered my self with cloth and applied sellotape to my sensitive parts. Besides, the pictures were taken in my house”, Brown said.
At the Court presided over by Christina Cann on Wednesday, she admitted Rosemond to bail in the sum of ¢100,000 with four sureties – two to be justified with landed property worth ¢100,000.
