Gov. Umahi Bids Farewell To Nigerian High Commissioner To Zambia, Swears In New SAs

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi, on Wednesday, bids farewell to the Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia, Amb. Nwanne Ominyi at the EXCO Chambers, Old Government House.

In his Mission Statement, Chief Ominyi first condoled the Governor and people of the state on the unfortunate incident in Ishielu LGA where about 15 indigenes of the area were brutally massacred by suspected herdsmen. He also applauded the Governor on his commitment to the safety of Ebonyians.

 

Speaking further, he informed the Governor that he had come to intimate him on his impending departure to Zambia as he has received his Letter of Credence from the President, Muhammadu Buhari. He appreciated Gov. Umahi for squeezing time out of his busy schedule and asked him to please, correct him if he goes wrong.

Amb. Ominyi eulogized the Governor for translating the developmental strides he saw abroad to his home state, Ebonyi.

The Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, thereafter congratulated the High Commissioner for his elevation.

Gov. Umahi reminded the High Commissioner that Zambia is good in agriculture and wants him to bring back such transformation to the state.
He prayed to God to guide him in his new post.

On the crisis in Ishielu part of the state, he warned against igniting the tensed environment and pleaded with the press to be patriotic in their reportage. According to him, within the next coming week, the crisis in Effium will be a thing of the past.

The Governor swore in five Special Assistants and one Personal Assistant.

The newly sworn-in aides include;

Nnenna Umahi – Personal Assistant to the Governor.

Maxwell Umahi – Special Assistant on Solar light and EBBC matters

Isiah Eze – Special Assistant on Transport

Emmanuel Nwangbo – Special Assistant on Streetlight.

Simon Anyigor – Special Assistant on Governor’s Lodge

Eze Ikechukwu – Special Assistant on Internal Security.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Simon Anyigor thanked the Governor for the honour given them to serve. He promised to justify the confidence reposed on them.
