A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State,Dr. Chidia Maduekwe on Wednesday enjoined residents of Aba North and Aba South federal constituencies to come out en masse on March 27th and vote for the party in the by-election.
Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, also the Managing Director and Chief Executive,Nigerian Film Corporation made the call during the ward to ward campaign for the party’s candidate Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu in Ward 13, Park Rd, Aba. The campaign tour was led by the Senate Chief Whip Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and other party Stalwarts.
“I urge you all the good people of Aba to come out to show how much you love the party and our candidate, candidate Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu, if you take a good look at his profile you will realise that our party has given you the best. We really thank you for your support so far.
“With the support we have gotten from you all we are sure of winning, but we want to win overwhelmingly. We, therefore, urge you to come out en masse on March 27th and translate your support to massive votes for APC”, he said.
He urged the people to troop out and vote for the party , Dr. Chidia said the voter’s protection throughout the election period is guaranteed noting that the Federal Government has mobilized all the security agencies to ensure that the voters exercise their franchise.
Highlighting the achievements of the party Dr. Chidia said the APC is focused on a people oriented campaign stating that the APC has done a lot in the state to deserve their votes.
The APC chieftain said that other areas in the Federal constituency have witnessed the impact of the Federal Government through the construction of roads by the Niger Delta Development Commission which reflects the party’s popularity in the state.
He urged residents to use their voter cards to change the PDP’S reign in the state and deliver massive votes for APC in the bye-election.
Dr. Chidia commended residents of Ward 13 and those of neighbouring Wards of ; 10 Ehi Rd Pri sch,8 Kent by Clifford,2 ( School Road , 12 St Michael’s/Hospital and the entire wards for warmly receiving the party’s campaign team.
He said they would not regret their support for the party, describing Hon Mascot Uzor Kalu ,as the party’s House of Representatives standard-bearer, as a competent and trusted candidate. He said that Mascot would not disappoint if elected.
Dr. Chidia said Mascot is a seasoned Financial economist after transforming the public and private sectors he worked in.
He said the candidate would bring the same interventionist zeal in the service of the people.
Senator Kalu , on his part, said the party presented it’s candidate,Mascot for the seat because he wanted to make an impact in the Constituency.
He said he had the passion, the drive, and competence to offer quality representation, and would not disappoint if elected.
The candidate said he would push for the rehabilitation of major roads in Aba and those of other areas in the Federal constituency to ease movement.
He said he would carry out programmes and initiatives to alleviate poverty, promote employment and social inclusion in the constituency if elected.
Kalu appealed to residents of Aba to come out en masse and vote for the party’s candidate on March 27th.

IGBERE TV reports that the campaign train had another meeting, where they equally sought votes from residents.
Earlier, Kalu and his campaign team visited traders along Clifford road to campaign for the party.
