… I am just doing my job – Rep Onyejeocha
A delegation from Amaibo Oguduasa community in Isuikwuato LGA led by the President General of their Improvement Union, Mr Ibeabuchi Mark Nwokeukwu and their Political leader Hon Obi Chima, on Friday, visited the Deputy Chief Whip House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria and the member Representing Isuikwuato /Umunneochi Federal Constituency Rep Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to express their gratitude for the massive road construction projects she attracted to their community and Isuikwuato Local Government area in general.
In an address delivered by the President General Mr Nwokeukwu, the community described Rep Barr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha as an authentic representative of the people of Isuikwuato for delivering them from alienation and total neglect.
According to his address, the community has been without motorable roads, pipe-borne water, electricity and in fact any form of government presence until Ada remembered them.
“We have remained in this state of abandonment and total neglect until you remembered us through your rescue mission. Our community has been living on nature’s provision and by the grace of God”
“Your intervention therefore has given us hope that better days are ahead. The scripture tells us that ‘when the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice ‘ your Present tenure has given us credence to this biblical assertion. You are truly a God sent; we celebrate and appreciate your magnanimity.
The community stated further that apart from the road construction Projects, School Blocks Rehabilitation and Erosion Site construction, Scholarship Scheme for our sons and daughters, Pipe borne water under construction etc going on in their community and Isuikwuato generally, that they also came to express gratitude for numerous other things Adaejiagamba has done for them.
“We are here today to express our gratitude to a worthy daughter for the following reasons:
– to congratulate you for your political advancement and prowess.
– to thank you for remembering a neglected community as ours.
– to thank you for opening up our community with good roads.
– to thank you for the support you gave to our illustrious son Chief Obi Chima during the just concluded LGA council Chairmanship Elections under the great party APC.”
The House of Assembly member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency Honourable Barrister Emeka Okoroafor leaning on the address by the President General further thanked Rep Onyejeocha for having the spirit of service to the people.
“There are many people that will find themselves in political office and they will only care about their pockets and family, but Adaejiagamba is different. At all times you identify with the people and the communities that made you their representative. We from Isuikwuato will ever remain grateful to you for all the numerous projects you have brought to us. My people have never seen it this good, and on their behalf I will continue to say thank You, we are grateful” Hon Okoroafor stated.
Earlier in his speech, Chief Obi Chima the APC Chairmanship flag bearer in the just concluded Local Government Council elections in Abia State who initially made the opening remarks and introduction of the entourage further re-emphasized the high level of gratitude of the people of Oguduasa in general to Rep Onyejeocha.
According to him “You don’t know how grateful we are Madam Rep for what you have done for us. We were previously neglected completely until you showed us this high level of love. We will never forget it in a hurry. We shall remain solidly behind you politically any day and forever you shall remain a worthy daughter of Oguduasa”
In her response, the only female Principal Officer in the 9th Assembly expressed shock that the community is thanking her for doing her duty as their duly elected representative.
According to her, “you elected me to work for you and would you be coming to thank me again for doing what you elected me to do? I am just doing my job and how I wish I could do more. If you had told me why you were coming to see me I wouldn’t have permitted you to come”
She further stated, “the people of Oguduasa have been my greatest supporters and today we are in the position where they can reap the dividends of their support to me. The road project is just the beginning of the good things coming the way of Oguduasa. We have committed our effort to transforming Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency and the Almighty God will give us the opportunity, the will and the zeal to deliver on this promise to the people”.
The People’s Amazon reiterated her determination to make sure her constituents enjoy to the fullest the dividends of democracy. She promised to continue to collaborate with other leaders in her party to make her constituency the best.
“I have made it my resolve to leave a positive foot prints in the sands of this constituency. I derive my inspiration from other leaders of our party who are also doing their best for our people. I thank you Ndi Oguduasa for coming to show gratitude, as long as there is life we shall continue to do more”
“In APC we are in a hurry to develop Abia North, we are determined to take over Abia State, and we are committed to transforming Nigeria. You should take this APC message to our people in the village, they should seize the opportunity of new registration and re-validation exercise created by APC to become members of our great party so that we can get more dividends of democracy from the top”.
“Abia should register en mass in APC because that is where the light for ndi Igbo is. In Abia State, we only have two political parties, APC and others. We have tested other parties in this country and we have never had it this rosy. Ndi Igbo have experienced massive projects under APC than before now and that is why we have resolved to make the South East an APC zone. My God will bless you Ndi Oguduasa as you go home”.
IGBERE TV recalls that last year, October 30,2020 Rep Onyejeocha together with the Representative of Secretary to the Federation flagged off the Erosion and flood Control works at Oghughe Oruruala-Ohukabi Aligbara Ohukabi Nde Njibi Oguduasaa , funded by the Ecological Fund Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (The Presidency) and some section of it has been completed and others still under massive construction, same last year precisely on July 18, 2020 she commissioned some Km’s of road in Amaibo /Amiyi in same Oguduasa community attracted by her humble self.
