Police has paraded suspected kidnappers who allegedly killed a 6-year-old girl after demanding for N8m ransom from her family, IgbereTV reports.
The suspects kidnapped the little girl on November 2, 2020, in Gabije community of Kogi State, alongside her 14-year-old brother.
The boy escaped from his abductors. But the girl was unlucky as she was killed by her captors and buried in a shallow grave.
The victim’s parents could not afford the 8m ransom and were trying to negotiate the amount before involving the police authorities. The kidnappers later killed the little girl because the demand was not met.
Police spokesperson, Frank Mba said the police arrested some of the key suspects and also pledged to ensure that they arrest other suspects who are at large.
During interrogation, the key suspect, Domozu who is from Gabije community denied claim of them killing the child. He alleged that the girl died of stomach complications, a claim Mba dismissed on grounds of exhumed corpse of the child showing signs of violence.
The sum of N765,000, Five AK-47 rifles and magazines, as well as life ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
