Carry Your Cross And Leave Umahi Alone - Nwaze Blasts PDP

The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Francis Nwaze, has lambasted the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, over “a sponsored advert in some sections of the media titled ‘Hijacking the cause of justice in Ebonyi State Judicial system: how Governor Umahi, Brothers Connived to ‘Procure’ Ruling from State High Court’  credited to the purported acting Chairman of PDP in the State, Elder Fred Udeogu alleging attempt to hijack justice in the impasse between the two factions of PDP in the State by the APC led State Government.”

Nwaze said Ordinarily, he should not be responding to the issues raised in the advert as they are part of the issues under contention in a court of competent jurisdiction lest we commit contempt of court but it has become expedient to make this brief clarification to save the unsuspecting reading public from the white lies and cheap propaganda of the political desperados aimed at dragging the name of the focused Governor into their unfortunate predicaments.
While urging the PDP to carry their cross and leave Umahi alone, Nwaze said the present leadership of the State under Governor Umahi operates on the tripod stand of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, hence it left the PDP three months ago and has no hand whatsoever on the travails which have further depleted the vestige of the once populous party in the State.
The statement reads,
“I read a sponsored advert in some sections of the media titled ‘Hijacking the cause of justice in Ebonyi State Judicial system: how Governor Umahi, Brothers Connived to ‘Procure’ Ruling from State High Court’  credited to the purported acting Chairman of PDP in the State, Elder Fred Udeogu alleging attempt to hijack justice in the impasse between the two factions of PDP in the State by the APC led State Government.”
“The PDP in the said sponsored advert went ahead to blame the APC led State Government for orchestrating violence against its members in the State for refusing to pinch tent with the APC.”
“Ordinarily, I should not be responding to the issues raised in the advert as they are part of the issues under contention in a court of competent jurisdiction lest we commit contempt of court but it has become expedient to make this brief clarification to save the unsuspecting reading public from the white lies and cheap propaganda of the political desperados aimed at dragging the name of the focused Governor into their unfortunate predicaments.”
“For clarity, the present leadership of the State under Governor Umahi operates on the tripod stand of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, hence it left the PDP three months ago and has no hand whatsoever on the travails which have further depleted the vestige of the once populous party in the State.”
“It is therefore senseless that instead of trying to find solutions to internal disharmony bedeviling the party in the State, it is only hell-bent on casting aspersions on the Government of Governor Umahi over issues it knows nothing about.”
“The Government will resist the temptation of commenting on issues pending in a court of competent jurisdiction.”
“It is on record that the Umahi led administration is a Respecter of the independence of the various arms of Government and has never tried at any point attempted to mortgage the freedom of any arm from operating freely and cannot exhibit same now most especially against the Judiciary, the last hope of the common man.”
” The Government, however, remains disposed to the independence of the Judiciary and will stop at nothing at preserving the sacredness and sanctity of the temple of justice in the State. Therefore, I enjoin Fred Udogu and the meagar remnants of my former party people at the state level to focus on their party and desist from any character that is capable of causing disaffection among Ebonyians. Let Governor Umahi be.”
“For clarity, the Governor at no point threatened anybody or a group of persons over the raging PDP face-off nor engineered any violence against the PDP and couldn’t have contemplated such having left the party with the full complement of the leaders of the state some months ago.”
“I, therefore, implore the general public to disregard the spurious allegations of the PDP which reflect in its entirety the figment of the imagination of the authors and treat the same as such.”
“I also call on the Judiciary not to be discouraged but continue to uphold integrity in the exercise of its statutory duties to ensure that it continues to function as the last hope of the common man.”
