The Deputy Chairman, APC Ohafia LGA Caucus, Rt Hon. Sir Prince Arua Arunsi OFR has denied any involvement with a meeting that purportedly took place at the residence of HON Nnamdi Iro Orji, in which he (Hon. Orji) emerged the APC caucus leader in the local government area, IgbereTV reports.
The former Reps member in a statement he personally endorsed and made available to ABN TV on Tuesday while insisting that he never attended any such meeting wondered how his name made it to the list of attendees.
He alleged that his name was incorporated in the list to give it relevance.
He said, “My attention has been drawn to a press release ABN TV BREAKING NEWS OPOTOYOM, HON Nnamdi Iro Orji Emerges as Ohafia LGA APC caucus leader, published on 18th January 2021, following an inaugural meeting of the caucus which took place at the residence of Acting Chairman, Hon Prince Agwu Moses, at Ndi Nko Nkporo in Ohafia LGA, Abia State.
“In the meeting, my name was written on the attendance list as RT. Hon Arua Arunsi as against Rt. Hon. Sir Prince Arua Arunsi OFR purporting, I attended and participated in the above meeting.
“I hereby categorically state that I did not attend the meeting and would not have participated in the proceeding. I wondered how my name become so big as to give relevance to such meeting.
“This action is petty, ordinarily I would have ignored it, but for the purpose of putting the records straight, I deemed it necessary to issue this DISCLAIMER.
“On a higher note, APC caucuses are constitutional matters and membership is explicitly spelt out therein. Articles 12.9 and 12.14 detailed out the members of the caucuses in the state and LGA respectively and there should if any problem in constituting them.”
