Ohaneze Ndigbo: Gregory University Chancellor, Prof. Ibe Congratulates Obiozor

The Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu, in Abia state, Prof. Gregory Ibe, has congratulated the newly elected President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor on his victory at Sunday’s election in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV, on Monday, in Umuahia, Prof. Ibe, the ‘Enyi Abia’, while eulogizing the newly elected Ohaneze president-general, expressed confidence that Obiozor would lead the Association well.

“It is with great elation that I have received the news of your emergence as the new President-General at the recently concluded Ohanaeze elections in Imo State,” he said.

“Indeed, I must offer my joyous congratulations to you, Prof, and to other members of your incoming cabinet, eminent Igbo groups, Ndigbo in general and all those who made this achievement to come to fruition.”

He said with his emergence, the people of Southeast have shown the entire world and all Nigerians that in Obiozor, lies a true leading light that would speak on behalf of the race, stand for justice, equity and progress of the people.

“This victory accorded you today by God through his people has inspired great confidence in Ndigbo to look to the future with assurance that all will be well,” Prof. Ibe added.

“We remain upbeat that your pedigree and distinguished personality will guide the course of our future as a people.”

The Gregory University proprietor, while encouraging Obiozor to “march on”, said the people were standing by him in his quest to provide qualitative leadership to the people and Nigeria at large.

While praying for the newly elected Ohaneze leader, Prof. Ibe added; “My heart’s desire and prayer remains that your determined efforts to reawaken and reposition our people will continue to provide immense outcomes for the benefit of Ndigbo and our country, Nigeria.”
