Niger State Police Arrest Three Suspected Fraudsters Who Dupe People Through 'Guy-Work' (Photo)

The Niger State Police Command has arrested three suspected fraudsters who specialized in duping people through ‘guy work’, IgbereTV reports.

Spokesperson of the command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday, November 17, said the suspects were arrested by police operatives attached to Kutigi Division on November 10, based on a tip-off.

The suspects, Shedrack Madaki, 42, of Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State, Abdullahi Adamu, 47, of Fagge Dalla LGA of Kano State and Umaru Mohammed, 23, of Nasarawa Chikun LGA of Kaduna, defrauded three unsuspecting members of the public and collected about five hundred thousand naira by loitering around some commercial banks premises in Bida and Kutigi where they observed some banks customers who are in possession of money.

“The victims were deceived and dispossesed of their monies, while the suspects drove off in the said vehicle. They were later arrested along Bida-Kutigi road at Wuya-Reke Village Gbako LGA by the Police after a hot chase,” the statement reads.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have specialized in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public through “GUY-WORK”.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects includes a Toyota Corolla vehicle with Reg. No. KWL 369 BD, a sum of two hundred and ninety eight thousand naira (#298,000;00k), two itel and Tecno handsets. The case is under investigation.
